I'll start with the bad news -- this wagon has a weak cylinder and it smokes excessively. I've been planning to replace or rebuild the engine for close to a year now and I never seem to get around to it, so I have decided to sell it as is. It actually runs and drives pretty well given the issue. It's very strong and fast for a non-turbo, suspension works great, a/c blows cold (weak, but cold), new Michelin tires, new coco mats, rebuilt Becker Stereo, new hood insulation padding, lots of recent mechanical and cosmetic restoration work, etc... but there's no getting around the fact that the top end of the engine needs rebuilding. I'm invested in the project far beyond the asking price.

I bought the car from the original owner in Washington state around this time last year and I drove it back to Los Angeles. It comes with a stack of records since new, all the way down to the original window sticker. There are no cracks in the dashboard and the interior is excellent throughout. Most of the paint is good and original, although the rear hatch was resprayed and done poorly.

All in all this could be a fantastic deal for anyone willing to tackle the engine issue. I'm looking for a quick and simple sale, so I have priced the car to move asap. Shoot me an email if you're interested.

Thanks!
